Yi-Hsin Hung (Cindy) is a Ph.D. student at Texas Tech University, Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy program. Her research focuses are diversity, immigration, relational issues, and trauma. She received a Master's degree from the University of Oregon, Couples and Family Therapy program. Her research goals include: 1) Developing effective treatments for underserved minority populations who suffer from mental health, and 2) Incorporating advanced analysis to generate more rigorous quantitative studies in the MFT field. She has conducted quantitative research in exploring the longitudinal impact on discrimination, relationality, and family cohesion. She also conducts qualitative research on topics such as the experiences and impacts of racial trauma. Her dissertation is focusing on an EMDR technique with an RCT approach. She hopes to promote culturally appropriate interventions and studies to support people in underserved and marginalized communities who struggle with trauma and have difficulty receiving mental health treatment.
