ADHD/ASD Assessments

At CTH, we are pleased to offer comprehensive mental health, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments to individuals 15 years of age and older. Across 5-6 sessions, we gather data from psychological assessments that help us determine if an individual meets DSM 5 criteria for ADHD and/or ASD as well as other common mental health conditions. Our assessments are designed to offer an in-depth understanding of each individual's unique challenges and strengths.

Our team of qualified therapists is skilled in diagnosing and providing psychotherapy interventions for all types of ADHD and ASD, ensuring a patient-centered approach that respects each individual's personal context and experiences. However, it is important to know that our assessments are not the same as a full neuropsychological evaluation because we are not qualified to do cognitive (commonly referred to IQ) testing nor can we determine if an individual has a learning disability, even though ADHD and ASD often affect someone’s learning.

Over the course of 5-6 sessions, we employ a variety of methods that include standardized psychological/mental health assessments and diagnostic interviews. We may want to interview a significant person in your life who knows you well, to learn about their perspective on your challenges and strengths.

Then, we do a final session to review the test results, assessment findings, and to provide a detailed report that includes tailored recommendations and resources. For example, we often recommend strategies to manage daily life challenges, with an aim of empowering individuals and significant others (as appropriate) with the knowledge and understanding of conditions relevant to them.

Deciding to do an assessment with us does not guarantee a diagnosis or ADHD, ASD or any other mental health diagnosis. For further information or to schedule an assessment and to ensure that it is a good fit for what you need, we invite you to fill out our inquiry form linked here. Our intake coordinator will follow up with you.

If you suspect that you may have ADHD and/or ASD and think that what we offer at CTH is a good fit for you, we will do our best to support and guide you to learn about yourself so that you can better manage your challenges and harness your strengths to live optimally.

Note: We recognize your readiness to begin this journey and are committed to maintaining clarity regarding our scheduling timeline. Currently, there is an estimated 8-9 month waiting period for assessments. It's important to understand that your place in the queue is established based on when we receive your inquiry form, not from your initial screening call with our intake coordinator.
